What is your budget?
We estimate our budget for this first mural to be between $10,000 and $15,000 for materials, equipment rentals, marketing, in-kind donations, t-shirts for volunteers, and signage. All monies raised above and beyod will help fund our 2020 event during which all five tunnels will be painted.
What about graffiti?
King County Parks & Recreation Department will apply a graffiti resisting top coat to the base layer. If we are successful in building an annual event, then the tunnel, and any graffiti, will be repainted each year. Our hope is that by having the community participate in the mural's creation that there might be very little vandalism.
When will the second mural take place?
We’re hoping to have our second mural done by summer's end 2021. This is dependent on many factors, most especially the Coronavirus and when a vaccine and cure are made available. We realize this is extremely ambitious, but with your support we can do this.
